Welcome to Family Eye Care of Ida Grove

Ida Grove

At Family Eye Care of Ida Grove, Dr. Troy Currier provides medical and routine vision examinations for adults and children. Our eye doctors specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye and provide well vision exams. Treatments may include prescription of medicine, glasses, or contact lenses.

Regular eye examinations are an important part of your preventive health care. Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months of age, again at age 3 and every year into adulthood. The simple vision screening provided by your pediatrician may not detect all eye issues, and early detection is vital. Eye disease and vision issues are far more easily corrected prior to age 9, the age at which the brain has developed completely.

Rubbing your eyes, squinting, headaches, changes in vision or difficulty with focusing within arm’s length are indicators to visit your optometrist. For those who wear contact lenses our optometrists recommend annual exams. Vision exams are recommended every two years for adults until age 60 unless you have health issues which require more frequent visits. After age 60, annual exams are generally recommended.

Thorough examination followed by sound recommendations concerning next steps of my eye care. I was not encouraged to purchase new glasses that would not improve my vision... I appreciate that honesty.

Family Eye Care of Ida Grove has always been committed to the health and safety of our patients, our staff and our community. At this time, we are following CDC recommendations in postponing and rescheduling all non-essential eye care appointments. If you are scheduled for an exam, one of my staff will reach out to you.

We will continue to be available for urgent medical eye care and our office will be available to take your calls, answer your questions, place an order for contact lenses and schedule appointments.

If you have glasses or contacts here that are ready to be picked up, we would gladly mail them to you or meet you outside the door of the office. We do accept credit card payments over the phone if needed. Please contact our office to set up a time at 712-364-3118.

Please check our website frequently for further updates.

Dr. Currier would like to remind everyone to limit social activity as much as possible and hopes that everyone stays healthy and safe. Thank you for understanding during this uncertain time. Stay well!
